Barret is a crude, short tempered man from Corel. Having grafted a gun arm into his right arm, he has come to realize that Shinra and its energy source, Mako, is harmful to the planet, and has formed the terrorist group AVALANCHE to destroy Mako reactors and save the planet from the Shinra. He loves his adopted daughter Marlene, whom he decided to take care of following the apparent death of her father, and his good friend, Dyne. He often resorts to vulgarities when things don't go his way.
