About USS Stark
USS Stark was a guided-missile frigate of the Oliver Hazard Perry class, named after Admiral Harold Rainsford Stark. Commissioned in 1982, it was tragically struck by Iraqi missiles in 1987, resulting in the loss of 37 U.S. sailors. Decommissioned in 1999 and scrapped in 2006.
