Mockingbirds are best known for the habit of some species mimicking the songs of other birds and the sounds of insects and amphibians, often loudly and in rapid succession. The Chilean mockingbird forages mainly on the ground, it also hunts in vegetation up to 3 m above ground. It is omnivorous; it has been documented feeding on insects, wild and cultivated fruits, nectar, and a small lizard. Exellent impersonator.
