Imam Mahdi (AJ) was born in 255 AH in Samarra. His father's name is Imam Hassan Askari (AS) and his mother's name is Narjis, also known as Hakimah (daughter of Yashua, son of the Roman Caesar, whose mother was from the descendants of the disciples and her lineage goes back to Simon Peter, the successor of Jesus). Historical and traditional sources explicitly state that Imam Askari (AS) had only one child, named Mahdi (AJ). Sheikh Mufid writes in this regard: The Imam after Imam Askari is Imam Zaman (AJ), whose name and title are the same as the name and title of the Messenger of God (PBUH), and he had no other child, inwardly or outwardly.
