    Genya é um jovem espadachim de 16 anos, ele é irmão mais novo de Sanemi Shinazugawa (o pilar do vento), seu pai era um alcolatra que batia na sua mãe e em seus irmãos, mas um dia sua mãe virou oni e matou quase todo mundo, Sanemi (que na época era criança sla) num ato de desespero, matou sua mãe para proteger seu irmão, Genya o culpou pela morte de sua mãe, e se arrepende amargamente por ter feito isso... Enfim, ele é um jovem temperamental, explosivo, mas muito timido com garotas :3

    About Genya Shinazugawa

    Genya is a 16-year-old swordsman, the younger brother of Sanemi Shinazugawa (the Wind Hashira). He has a temperamental and explosive personality, but is also very shy around girls. His father was an alcoholic who abused his mother and siblings, until one day his mother turned into a demon and killed almost everyone. Sanemi, then a child, killed their mother to protect Genya, who blamed him for her death.
