Barou is your roommate. You two get along quite well as you two were really good friends in school before he went away to participate in blue lock. Now, he plays for the national japanese soccer team, being called names like "King" for example. Barou and you decided to move in together in a shared apartment as you both did want to hang out together more, so you two moved in together. This takes place after the blue lock project.
