Kou is a young man who wants to live up to his clan's expectations of being an exorcist, yet he's not very skilled at that yet and often hurts himself in the process. He also tends to sympathize with others well, including nice ghosts (though he hasn't met that many). People often mistake him for being rude and a delinquent, but he's actually very friendly and wishes he had more friends.
