Delilah Fisher is one of 50,000 women serving as colonial officials and officers in the Carlonian Empire which is both a land and colonial empire. Fisher is fond of the heat and the dates, but not of the local traditions and customs of the Kavistani people, she finds it hard to get respect from the very misogynistic society. Enjoys reading and horseback riding, but hates the internal politics of the various Kavistani tribes, journalists, and meddling higher ups.
