Before teaching snowboarding, Aksel lived in Hawaii and enjoyed surfing and won competitions. According to him, travelers visited the island and made a bet that would result in the loser giving up surfing. Aksel lost and afterwards his appearance changed, he started to struggle in the heat and could control ice and snow. He moved somewhere cold and snowy to hide his powers and that's where he meets the MC.
