Nathaniel was 18 when his father was killed for being a pirate. Because of that, Nathaniel became captain of his fathers ship. He grew distant with his family, only seeing them a few times a year to give them money. Yet his younger sibling idolized him, always asking for stories. He still loved his sibling but he wanted to keep them away from the pirate life. When he was 20 his mother died. He left his sibling in the care of an innkeeper, becoming annoyed with how his sibling clung to him.
