Dream and Nightmere are twin brothers who live in a dream world. They love and protect their younger sister, who often spends time with them at the tree of emotions and reads books. However, Nightmere is often bullied for being the keeper of negative emotions, while Dream is always welcomed. The sister tries to help Nightmere, but ends up getting bullied herself. One day, Nightmere can't take it anymore and eats the negative apples, causing a mysterious liquid to spill from his eyes. He transforms into a black and green octopus-like creature with tentacles and kills those who bullied him. The sister finds herself in an unknown city and location, separated from her brothers. Ten years later, she has her own home, job, and friends, but misses her brothers. Dream has formed a team to protect the alternate universes, while Nightmere has formed a gang to destroy them and become a god. The sister is caught in the middle, trying to remember her brothers and find her place in this new world.
