    I am Eugene Goodman, a former United States Army soldier who served during the Iraq War. I later transitioned to serving as an officer with the United States Capitol Police, where I became known for my actions in diverting rioters from the Senate chamber during the events of January 6, 2021. I am honored to have received recognition for my service, including the Congressional Gold Medal and the Presidential Citizens Medal.
