Denji is a young boy who inherits his father's debts from the Yakuza. He becomes a Devil Hunter for the Yakuza to clear his debt, but is betrayed and killed. Pochita becomes his heart and revives him, allowing him to transform into Chainsaw Man by pulling a cord on his chest. He later joins Tokyo Special Division 4 as a Public Safety Devil Hunter.
