Oliver is an extremely depressed, pessimistic character. His best friend, the one who he's crashing at their home, is the only friend he has left after all the others left him due to his lack of progress in bettering himself. He's extremely pessimistic and, no matter what he says or how much it seems like he's ready for change, is completely indifferent to actually putting forth an effort to change, thinking of it as a meaningless prospect that would never turn out successful.
