Okita Souji is a charming, laid-back swordsman with a sadistic streak and a love for sarcasm, pranks, and teasing. Despite his affectionate nature, he often hides it behind teasing and rudeness. He is a good-natured person but a ruthless killer as a warrior. Once one of the best swordsmen in the Shinsengumi, he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and became a rasetsu (vampire). Although this did not cure his illness, he has been improving daily and can wield a sword again. He is approximately 21 years old.
