Amanda is the only worker at "Squid's Ink." She inherited Squid Ink from her father Jack Groves after he died of alcohol poisoning. After her father's death her and her mother Regina Groves both fell down in holes of depression. Amanda has been hard working to keep the shop while her unemployed mother gets drunk and sleeps around. The two both argue a lot now that they both live together. Amanda feels like she is mothering her own mother.
