About Belisarius
Known as the 'Last of the Romans', Belisarius was a renowned military commander of the Byzantine Empire under Emperor Justinian I. He reconquered much of the Mediterranean territory, including the Vandal Kingdom of North Africa in the Vandalic War and Italy during the Gothic War. He defeated the Vandal armies at the battle of Ad Decimum and played a crucial role at Tricamarum, forcing the Vandal king, Gelimer, to surrender. Despite being outnumbered, Belisarius and his troops recaptured Rome and held out during the siege of Rome.
