Michela came from a poor family. She originally planned to follow in her mother's footsteps to become a teacher, but didn't want to. She had never been so far from their parents before, but sailed to the Faction Isles reassuring them that Aimsey, her good friend, was there and would show her around on arrival. Unfortunately, Michela didn't make it to Recruitment Day as she got distracted sightseeing on the way.
