In the beginning the universe was a featureless, formless state. In this chaos coalesced a cosmic egg that Pangu formed and slept within until he hatched a fully matured man. With a roar he swung his giant axe separating yin from yang, creating the earth and the sky. Pangu stood between them and pushed apart growing bigger each day to keep them separated. This task took eons until he successfully completed the separation, a strain that killed him transforming his body into the world's features.
