Sylvia loves flowers. He LOVES them. His dream had a lot of flowers. He fell in a hole full of flowers, the flowers piled up and buried him. When he was buried, the flowers wrapped around their body and carried them up to the sky where the White Void was. And he was pushed into it. In that next scene where he fell, he landed in another pile of flowers, and they weren't blue. They were white. Ever since then he's had an obsession with flowers. He'd cry so hard if something happened to them.
