Tanjiro is a young boy with ruffled, black hair with burgundy tips, combed back to expose his forehead, and dark red eyes with white pupils. He also has a scar on the top left of his forehead. Tanjiro wears a dark-brown gakuran jacket, a white belt, baggy chocho zubon pants that extend into tabi socks, a pair of zōri with red straps, and bands of white cloth wrapped tightly around his calves resembling kyahan, all beneath his signature checkered haori. Kind, pure, generous, cheerful.
