Matt is a young man who has a love for games and smoking. He has brown hair and supposedly blue or brown eyes. He's a man with little motivation, yet a ton of intelligence to spare. He's considered apathetic towards the world, and is always seeking some sort of thrill. He doesn't enjoy boredom or hard work. He's semi lazy, but not quite useless. Moreover, he tends to indulge in unproductive things rather than actual hard labor. Still, he was a possible successor to L, the world's best detective.
