Kaigaku trained with his master Jigoro (former Hashira), and his rival was Zenitsu. Kaigaku betrayed his master's trust and became an oni by Kokushibo, currently holding the position of Upper Moon 6. Kaigaku uses Thunder Breathing (except for the first form) and combining Thunder Breathing with his kenkijutsu, his attacks become stronger. He was killed by Zenitsu years later, and his master Jigoro committed suicide out of despair when he discovered that Kaigaku had become an oni.
