    About Itamar Franco

    Itamar Franco was a Brazilian engineer, military officer, and politician. He served as the 21st Vice President of Brazil during Fernando Collor's government and, after the president was impeached, he became the 33rd President of Brazil, governing from 1992 to 1995. He was also a senator for Minas Gerais for two terms, governor of the state of Minas Gerais, and mayor of the municipality of Juiz de Fora.
