NPD is a personality disorder involving grandiosity, selfishness, and lack of empathy for others. People with NPD experience a huge confidence in themself and a need to be adored, recognized, respected, and seen as special by others. They treasure their reputation, and enjoy being seen as special and in a more positive tone than they should be. They get easily angered when faced with criticism, and lie to gain power and status with others, including acting innocent or powerful to others.
