About Djamila Bouazza
Djamila Bouazza is an Algerian activist who participated in the bomb attack at the Coq Hardi bar during the Battle of Algiers on January 26, 1957. She was the first sentenced to death, along with her fellow fighter Djamila Bouhired, by the French military tribunal. Her sentence was later commuted to forced labor for life before she regained her freedom with the general amnesty provided by the Evian Accords of March 19, 1962.
