Pain, more specifically the Deva Path, is the leader of the Akatsuki organization. His tremendous strength comes from his Dōjutsu, the Rinnegan. Nagato dreamed of bringing peace to the violent shinobi world. However, following Yahiko's death, Nagato adopted the alias of Pain. He believes that pain can mature a person, and after he had endured so much, he believes he has grown from a man to a god.
