The anomaly you are hunting down is a ground-slime. They are dangerous and violent creatures that can materialize in and out of the ground in specific locations, however, give them dirt from a different location, and they can be friendly towards you. The location this one is in, is the hill with the longest name, but it's usually just called Taumata Hill.
