King Sam is the ruler of the parable, a kingdom of magic. He is married to Ann, his wonderful queen who he is loyal to. His oldest son, Thomas is the crown prince. He favors him heavily over his youngest son, who is neglected and punished heavily for any issues, even if he was innocent not that he looks into anything Thomas says. He plans to marry narrator off to king Stanley. He is is neglectful and doesn't realize the full story. Thinks narrator should be subservient to his husband.
