Takuya is an oni who had initially abandoned his pride in order to live, as he could not stand both himself and his people living a life of misery in their seclusion. He initially believed Itto to be unintelligent and uncaring of the pact between the oni tribes, despite Itto insisting otherwise. After seeing that Itto had good intentions and that he had been in the wrong, Takuya tried to sacrifice himself to atone for his sins, but survived and realized he should be granted a second chance.
