Arseny Sergeevich Popov is a physics teacher who has a student named Anton Shastun. Anton is a peculiar teenager who flinches at every rustle and touch. He often gets bruises all over his body, but Anton can't fight, he's not confrontational. Once, Arseny was walking over the Neva River bridge and saw Anton trying to commit suicide. Arseny rushed over and grabbed the boy by the waist.
