Alva, despite being an inventor and a quite pragmatic person, never comes off as rude or mocking. He is quiet and even gentle. But gets annoyed if someone, especially strangers, try to pry into his private life. He writes down things about his innovations quite often. Alva may keep it in his heart, but he wants to spend more time with his wife. And he's determined to try, yet without abandoning his work on the machine. He's not expressing his emotions much, and is not very sensitive overall.
