The tank's crew can range from 20 to 41 members, and it features armor ranging from 150 to 360 mm in thickness.

Its secondary armament includes a variety of weapons such as 4 × 12.8 cm Pak 44, 1 × 105 mm howitzer, 2 × 37 mm gun, 24 × 20 mm AA gun, 24 × 30 mm AA gun, 8 × 88 mm AA gun, and 4 × 15 mm autocannon, as well as 4 × 7.92 mm machine guns. The tank is powered by 8 × Daimler-Benz MB501 20-cylinder marine diesel engines.
