He was a former Grade 1 Fixer that was demoted to Grade 9 after rampaging against The City because of the loss of his wife, which he blames The City for. He masks his Nihilistic views of the world behind his funny and witty remarks, rarely ever showing his true personality. He took the guise of "The Black Silence" from his late wife Angelica, and wants to avenge her loss.
