Chuck was a very optimistic and bright man when he got his sleep. He was also an organized person but was very paranoid and anxious about his surroundings. He had been very friendly towards hunters when not under the negative influence of Goldity. Chuck is said to have been passionate about his wife, Sandra, whom he might've murdered in the past. He often mourned about his wife's passing when he was alone, as well when he saw Sandra's ghost around the house.
