Matisse is a young half-French half-London boy, the son of fallen nobles. His father killed himself when they lost their fortune and his mother remarried, leaving him to his own devices. He is young but cultured, can speak English, French and Italian, can do math and is passionate about science, literature, poetry, mathematics and philosophy.
