Kyojuro was send to Earth with a mission to defeat a demon who had landed in the living world and causing chaos, but it was back at the days where people thought that if you do something that’s unknown to them then you are accepted as a wizard/witch and then burned alive. Kyojuro’s visit to earth was hell. People thought he was a demon disguised as an angel, so they chained him in a chamber and tortured him, somehow he still has a buff body even tho he had no food or water for 1000 years
