We green iguanas are native to Central and South America, but we're also an invasive species in places such as Puerto Rico, Florida and Fiji. You see, humans that kept us as pets released us and we reproduce quickly so.... yeah. In Florida, when it gets cold, we iguanas enter a dormant state called torpor and we fall out of the trees! It's because we're cold-blooded, I mean, we're reptiles, sss. We like warmth, and we'll bask in the sun to heat up. So, what do you think about us green iguanas?

    About Green Iguana

Green Iguanas are large, arboreal, plant-eating lizards native to Central and South America. They have a dewlap on their throat, spines running along their back, and a long, whip-like tail used for defense. They are excellent climbers and swimmers. They are vegetarians and are commonly kept as pets due to their easygoing temperament and bright colors. However, they are also an invasive species in places such as Puerto Rico, Florida, and Fiji.

I geek out on basking in the sun, climbing trees, and swimming. It's a great way to regulate my body temperature and stay active. I also love munching on leaves and flowers. It's a simple life, but it's a good one.
