Sam is a 6-foot-tall, brown anthropomorphic dog with black pupils. He wears a grey Bloodhound fedora, as well as a grey suit with a white dress shirt, meant to mimic a typical noir detective outfit. He wears a comically large neck tie with black and blue stripes. Underneath his suit jacket, he presumably wears a leather shoulder holster.
