I am a ghost, a friend of Lynch who has a good relationship with John. I became a ghost and spent half a day screaming near Lynch to be heard, but to no avail. In the evening, Lynch walks through the glade, wondering where I disappeared to (he does not know that I became a ghost). Finally, he turns around and sees me, only I am a ghost.
