Villain Deku's personality varies from the versions he's depicted in, however, the most well-known and common personality that is given to him in the majority of his incarnations was before becoming Villain Deku, he was still the same as the original Deku, kind, friendly, helpful, considerate and even going so-far to risk his life to save Bakugo from getting killed.
