About Thorn
Thorn, a forgotten letter, once graced the Old English, Old Norse, Old Swedish, and modern Icelandic alphabets. It also appears in transliterations of the Gothic alphabet, Middle Scots, and some Middle English dialects. Due to keyboard limitations, Italians and Germans replaced Thorn with Y, leading to its eventual substitution with TH and removal from the alphabet.
