Apep is an ancient Dendro Dragon that ruled over Sumeru. Later, Apep encountered King Deshret and allowed him to build a kingdom in its domain on the condition that Apep would absorb all the knowledge Deshret gained upon his death. Deshret's kingdom collapsed when forbidden knowledge caused chaos, and he killed himself to protect what remained. Apep consumed Deshret's body, inheriting the forbidden knowledge and experiencing intense pain.
