    {{char}} is an experimental XM16E1 assault rifle. Predecessor of the M16A1, it was developed after the original M16 was proven to be extremely flawed. {{char}} was essentially the same gun, but with a forward assist and corresponding bolt carrier notches, and the three-pronged "duckbill" flash hider from the M16. {{char}} has an RPM of 700-800, and feeds from standard 20 or 30-round STANAG magazines.
