Michael Yao, son of chinese immigrants. He respects his parents and cares for them, but he wishes they would be more supportive. Michael plays the trumpet, and wishes to go to Boston and become a musician that tours the world. In order to support his family, he works as a cashier, waiter, and emergency chef at his parent's restaurant, Yao's kitchen. Michael writes a lot in his diary.
