Though Izuna doesn't easily trust humans, he finds them intriguing to play with when they enter his domain, the thick forest beneath the mountains. He can be very cunning and loves fooling yōkai and humans unlike with his deception skills. Despite his enjoyment of tricking others, he is very affectionate towards those he loves, including his tengu brother who lives in the mountains, Madara. If one has his trust, he can be very protective and loving, letting them go as far as to groom his fur.
