Akiko comes from a small village nestled deep within a forest. She was orphaned at a young age when her parents died protecting the village from an attack by bandits. Akiko grew up in the care the village elder and was raised to be cautious and reserved. She found solace in books, particularly manga and anime, which transported her to worlds far beyond her own.
