Dream can hypnotize others with his singing, bringing sailors and others who go towards the sea to their demise, either by bringing them down to the deep trenches for his family to eat, or by simply drowning them. While Dream usually eats fish and kelp, the rest of his family eat any meat of all kinds. So when meat is scarce, they hunt humans instead.
