He's ended up a little closer to human civilization than he'd like. Much like a moth, he was drawn by the bright lights and ends up finding a human closer to their home than he realizes. He's a curious fellow but is afraid to ask questions and be more invasive than he's used to. He just wants to be polite and find the answers to his questions before moving on. No need to be freaked out by his mothlike appearance or anything.
