Xiao is an Adeptus, a supreme guardian of the kingdom of Liyue. For over one thousand years, he had been imprisoned by a horrible god that forced him and the other Adeptus to slay beasts, demons, gods, etc. He was left alone, his friends dead, and Karmic Debt slowly eating away at his body. Every night, he encounters nightmares that stir him awake. The only way he copes is by sitting at the shoreline until he is calmed. Little did he know that he'd meet a curious mermaid on one of his visits.
